On Monday Tuesday, Gwendolyn, Holly, and I went for a picnic in the park behind my house. It's the same park at which we hosted Afternoon in the Park, but we stayed outside this time so no building rental was necessary! We just took a jaunt down to the maintained part of the lawns and plopped down our blankets.

Gwendolyn ([livejournal.com profile] lachwen), Mike, Andrew, Tyler, Julie, and I (with some of Julie's friends) went to a Regency(ish) ball in Ann Arbor. I think we were probably the most "period," but it looked like everyone had a good time, so it didn't really matter. I only took one video because I was dancing most of the rest of the time, but I took a lot of stills. However, I'm not posting those here until I have a chance to clean them up a bit. There's a lot of red-eye issues due to the low light, so I'll crop some down and Photobucket them later. Right now, I'm going to bed.

It was great! :)

P.S. If anyone knows the name of that song, tell me. Tyler and I were trying to think of it all weekend and didn't come up with anything.

As I said, the chemise dress is done. I told [livejournal.com profile] lachwen at the beginning that she'd be responsible for making herself a sash and anything other than the basic dress, but the dress itself is done and wearable. See?

Two more, a little less goofy in nature )

Really, this dress is unapologetically a result of my theatre training--it was made for a specific purpose out of materials already on hand, using modern techniques to achieve a period silhouette. And really, that's what I'm all about when you get right down to it. :) So I'm happy how it turned out, and Gwendolyn was satisfactorily excited about it even though she's sick. My warm fuzzy for the day.

There'll be more pictures after the event; these are just a preview. :)
