Jan. 1st, 2003 08:46 pmHappy New Year! 2003 is here, and I hope it's going to be just as good as 2002.
What did I learn in 2002...hmm.
You can't wait for people to be nice to you. Take initative and just go ahead and be friends. No matter what, being friends is better than losing someone forever just because you were too shy to say 'hello' one day out of your life.
If people don't love you for who you are now, they won't love you any more if you change your physical appearance. Making yourself miserable over other people's opinions isn't worth it. If they don't like you, tough. Find someone who does--and there are people out there willing to love you for you and nothing more.
Be willing to listen. People may tell you all sorts of things you're not supposed to know, but it helps just to have someone to listen, nod, and give you a hug when all's said and done.
Prayer is answered. It's amazing what happens when you talk to the Lord. I knew this in theory but I think I've seen a lot of answers to prayer this year and it's just awesome to look back and say, "Look, I prayed for that and God answered."
I can think of hundreds of things more to say, but I'm going to go start laying fabric for my dress now, so have a great new year and God bless!
(Next up: My Five Pines Live New Years experience! (Hey look--someone recognized me!))
