FINALLY got to see the Requiem dress in a film! Loved it. My costume was recognizable, people nudged me when it showed up onscreen. :D

Gondor...the city just took my breath away. I am no great lover of Gondorian culture, but the city was beautiful. Something about how it was so white but rich at the same time really appealed to me. Like in the ending scene, the city is white and shining but the colors of the people are so clean...I don't know how to describe it really.

The King's "For Frodo," and his last charge, and how the two Hobbits were the first ones to follow him.

CLEAN Aragorn!! Like, once he's not a ranger he's allowed to use soap, and it's really nice. Loved the full beard he had at the end of the film.

I almost threw up when Sam pulled the webbing away from Frodo's face and he was so dead and sallow and had specks on him...I gagged and couldn't look for a second. I try not to be girly about it but I have a big problem with bugs, 'specially poinsonous spiders, so Shelob was not my idea of a real good time.

Something about how the Hobbits were all dressed in the same style at the end but with really rich fabrics really appealed to me. It was like, "We're not so different, just refined and our lives have been made just that much more vibrant and rich for what we've been through."

"My friends...you bow to no one."

They really prettied Frodo up for his last shot. I think that was the first time in all the movies that I've actually thought he was really attractive. I WANT his coat, the blue-teal frock coat he wears on the ship. Love it. Going to make his first one though, since I've already got the fabric.

"I never dreamed I'd die side by side with an Elf."
"What about side by side with a friend?"
"Aye...I could do that."
Omigosh. Perfect. My favorite line exchange EVER. Those two are my absolute favorite part of the books, and those few lines were just marvelous. I cried.

Sam and Rosie. I love how they didn't show anything he said in the pub, just showed the others reactions to watching him. Oh-so-evil but very effective.

"It still only counts as one!"

Once I got over the initial "I can't belive he did that!" when Aragorn grabbed Arwen at the end, I thought that scene was very dear. After all, he thought he was going to lose her. The few seconds where you were watching over Arwen's shoulder while they looked at each other and smiled and just seemed they couldn't believe they were finally together, touching each others' faces and kissing (softly this time), that wasn't so bad. And they got in a good hug, which made the whole thing bearable instead of being like "Ew gross, quit with the spit-swapping." Made it more like, "Yeah, they're really genuinely happy to be together."

I'm going to preface this by saying I hate it when people misunderstand the Hobbits' friendships and start screaming "Gay!" because that's just not the way it is. Anyway: I got really choked up as Frodo was bidding Sam goodbye and he kissed him on the forehead. That was just perfect. And again, I want the coat.

Definitely not enough Eowyn and Faramir. I liked their love story better than Arwen and Aragorn's in the books, mostly because I didn't realize there WAS an Arwen/Aragorn story til it said "And they were married" at the end of the book. I was like, "WHAT? Since when were THEY together? Arrrgh, TOLKEIN!!" Plus Eowyn's my favorite character. So I rather missed the Houses of Healing, but hopefully they'll include a bit of it later in the EE.

Pippin jumping onto the funeral pire and pitching Faramir off.

Pippin after looking into the Palatir. I just wanted to hug him, he looked so terrified as Gandalf was picking his brain. Of course, I've always loved Pippin, I mean, I named the guinea pig after him. He's not a half bad singer, either.

Faramir's suicide mission. Tears!! I wanted to hug him, too. "Where does my allegiance lie if not here?" No! There is hope!! Denethor is decieved, but..but..*sob*

Got a big kick out of how Aragorn went pelting over to Meduseld when he caught sight of the beacon. That's the most excited he'd been to date.

Great big feeling of "YESS!! ALL RIIIIGHT!" when the Gondorian trebuchets started flinging huge chunks of architecture into the forces of Mordor.

Now, I really didn't like how Denethor met his end, because that wasn't really what Tolkein was going for. However, it was too much of a temptation to fling someone off the end of that big tall courtyard, and the fact that he was flaming when they did it...hehehe. While I don't like the plot device, I really did giggle when Denethor ran out in flames.

The theme of Gondor...I'm in love with the mellow brass. The mournful wail of the horns is always a breath-snatcher for me.

He really did lose his finger, how about that?

Sam + Sting + Galadriel's flask = *Jaw drops open amidst cheers from the audience* And Pat was very patient with me flinching every time Shelob did that creepy spiders-move-really-freaking-fast type thing.

"Ride with me!"
"My lady!"
'nuff said.

I really liked how Theoden rode down the line and crossed sword to spear with his riders before battle.

"NO. I will save you."
"You already have."

The bittersweet repetition of Theoden's earlier line, "I know your face...Eowyn." Ohhh, tears.

There was so much more. Very intense movie. Must see it again! :D However, now I'm going to go lie down and read some more Greatest Generation and then go to sleep.
