I did it!

All I needed was a little nudge; [livejournal.com profile] ithilwyn and [livejournal.com profile] suededsilk told me to get a webpage, so I did. I mean, I just ordered it so nothing's up yet obviously, but I should now own katiejacobs.com and have a little intro account through Drak.net (thanks Teresa!) coming. Yay!

This also means that I get to design a new webpage. I may or may not stick with my current layout and I'm probably going to be redoing some of my earlier stuff. If I'm gonna be moving the thing, I might as well be creative about it.

I get my stitches out tomorrow. Well, today. Saturday. I'm kind of excited; they're getting annoying.

Hey everybody. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Now heeeellllllllp!

I want to know about web hosts. A bunch of you have your own honest-to-goodness websites with their own domains and everything. I've had a website of some form or another since about 2002 or so, always hosted on some free service. I think it's time my website grew up a bit, so I've been pondering services and companies to go through.

Also, my friend Tyler wants me to build him a website for his Civil War hats. I'm overly amused at this, given my nitty-gritty knock-down-drag-out warfare approach to website building. But he's paying for it, so whatever. I don't want to find him a crappy host, though.

So, recommendations? Who do you use, who would you avoid, etc?
