ktlovelyIt's already Thursday, dangit. I slept through Wednesday and missed it! Of course, I was up til around 7 that morning, but still, it feels very strange.
The NYE party at Five Pines was great. I didn't think I was going to be able to stay up all night, but I did. Joel Panozzo recognized me, that's something new. It'd been four years--I've changed a lot over that time but he doesn't know that...I've come almost full circle.
Sure, I chopped my hair off and got braces, but now my hair's back to being long and the braces are off. No glasses, either.
It was great though, I didn't think anybody would remember me. But he did, and I was happy to see him there. At least somebody from Christ Lutheran made it to a good place. The only other person I had known before was Matt Cook, and he left in 2nd grade. He remembered my name, though, and that he'd gone to my birthday party once. He liked carrots. When were still going to school together, we looked alike enough to be brother and sister--it was really funny. Not related at all but we looked almost like twins.
Greg, DeeDee, and Noah were there as well. DeeDee glomped me as soon as I walked in the door. Noah sort of attacked me a little bit after that, and I found Greg about ten minutes later. He took me around and pointed out people by name even though I didn't remember too many of them.
We played a game outside that consisted of running around the woods in the dark, finding glowsticks, and doing strange tasks to get little marks on a piece of paper to prove we'd visited all 7 checkpoints. I didn't ever really understand the point of all of this except to keep us entertained for an hour or so. It worked, I guess. There were all sorts of tournaments--air hockey, pool, euchre, war, etc. later on, and I played TriBond which is really fun. Greg went home around two but that's okay b/c he needed to get some sleep b/c he was going visiting the next day. I had a lot of fun and I definitely want to go down to FPL sometime soon, though probably after exams.
I just got 2 out of four dress pieces pinned down before I had to come up here and start working on these stupid English papers, so hopefully I can get that off the ground tomorrow or later tonight. Right now I'm actually going to get some paper typing done. Blargh.
