Holy crap, my knee hurts. And get this--it's the right one, not the one that I fell on last night. Like, I've taken ibuprofen and it still just hurts. It probably isn't helped by the fact that I've been kneeling on the basement floor cutting out pieces for my TV Vest Basque. I have a little issue to fix with the shoulder tonight, and then I can cut out my real fabric. I'm worried about having enough of the velvet. I only have like 2 2/3 yards. Which ought to be enough, but a) I'm paranoid, and b) I don't know if that's enough to eek a collar and cuffs, out of as well as the jacket. If all goes as planned, however, the jacket will be navy blue velvet, and the vest will be this turquoise-teal silk noile. It was cheap, what can I say? I bought some fairly inexpensive blue-striped ticking for the interlining (I have duck canvas, but that was too heavy, I thought), and tea-dyed muslin for the lining. It was neutral, and cheap. And no one is going to see it.

And so. Tonight, I will fix the shoulder seam, set the sleeve back in, and if it all looks decent, I will sit down and cut out at least my fashion fabric and interlining. I ought to wash the interlining and lining first, though, so that may be as far as I get, though. I could stay up all night and do as much as I can, but sewing when you're exhausted is generally a Bad Idea. I don't have class til 11 tomorrow though, so maybe I can get some done. I would like to be done with this by Friday, but it most likely won't happen. It's an ambitious goal, but I'm setting it anyway because if I don't try, then I'll never make it. :)

I am eminently jealous that you have time to sew. I'd So Love to be able to spend an entire evening with my scissors and sewing machine, but no! I...never mind, I'll go rant in my own LJ. But anyway, I never heard of this jacket before! 1. I'd love some pictures and b. you should write all about it on your web site. Trust me, putting future (and current) projects on a web site is LOADS of fun. *nods happily*
