Nov. 29th, 2003 10:30 pmOkay, so. I was going to be all good and finish 2 lessons before I sewed anymore. Well, their site went down, dangitall. Soo, last night I just gave up and traced both templates for the sleeve trim, and tonight I picked off the entire sleeves of my old dress. If they fit, I'm using the old upper sleeves to line the new ones, and the old lower sleeves because I rather like them and can't afford brocades or what have you at the moment. Still have to pick out the zipper, and I kind of want to add a panel in back for a little added fullness. I like the idea of having a couple stacked pleats at the center back, I think it'd be pretty and I really go for full skirts. If I had enough material, I'd make it a full circle. I don't, though, so whatever. Just want it to be drapey, that's all. Someday I'm going to bead the bodice, too, but now I just plain don't have the time. I'm cutting it close as it is. Hopefully I can machine embroider most of the trim so I don't have to do all that by hand except for the beading. eep!
Timeline, by the way, is a good movie. The book is excellent, too, I highly recommend it. One of my favorites of Crichton's. The movie isn't exactly like the book, not quite as complicated, but t'was still very good. The guy playing André was really good. Cutie, too, with a lovely Scottish accent.
