Jan. 8th, 2004 12:56 amI'm such a listmaker. This time I'm really getting stuff done though.
I've decided I'm going to re-attach the skirt. It's not lined up and it's ugly in the back. Also very hard to get in and out of, being way too small to go over my hips and almost too small to go over my shoulders (and boobs. I hate boobs...). Annnd, since my mom had a spare 20" navy blue invisible zipper lying around...yeah, I'm a sad, strange little person. I figure, if I mess up, nobody'll see it b/c it's the underdress anyway, right? Anyway, list of things to finish before Jan 31, aka, Homecoming banquet:
I need to sleep, but there's a mountain of junk on my bed. One that I don't really want to deal with. However, I must. Once more into the fray.
Edit: Omigosh, the list tags behind the cut worked! I did something right the first time! (HTML, I mean. Normally we dont' get along. Woohoo!)

Anyway, list of things to finish before Jan 31, aka, Homecoming banquet:
- Line bodice and sleeves. Lining will be a whole second bodice all turned inside out, machine sewn around the neck and then whipstitched down everywhere else later.
- Install invisible zipper. This involves:
- Unpick waist seam, remove skirt, trim bodice CB down to an appropriate size. It's too wide right now.
- Reattach skirt, this time lining up correctly and using pleats instead of gathers in back. Pleats look nicer, that's why.
- Sew in zipper, hopefully getting it right the first time.
- Whipstitch lining down around zipper, waist, and sleeve bottoms. Note to self: Remember to fix that little missed bit where the silver petal sleeves join the uppers on that one side.
- Unpick waist seam, remove skirt, trim bodice CB down to an appropriate size. It's too wide right now.
- Finish neck trim. Add backing to all the trim pieces (sleeves and neck), and somehow attach them to the dress. Probably something semi-invisible around the edges. Once again, flying by the seat of my pants. Or pajama bottoms, as it were.
- Mark, cut, and sew the hems of the overdress. That'll all be by hand.
I need to sleep, but there's a mountain of junk on my bed. One that I don't really want to deal with. However, I must. Once more into the fray.
